Terms of Use
Effective date: 17 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the Cat Translator: Meow Talk iOS app (“Meow Talk”, “we”, “us”), developed by Tal Zvi. By downloading or using Meow Talk, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Meow Talk is entertainment, not a real translation. The app records a short clip of your cat's meow and uses AI, voiced by our resident feline scholar Professor Whiskers, to make a playful guess at mood. Cats don't speak human language, and there is no scientific way to literally translate meows into English. Nothing in the app should be read as an accurate account of what your cat is thinking or feeling.
Meow Talk is not veterinary advice. It is not a diagnostic tool and cannot tell you whether your cat is sick, injured or in distress. If you're worried about your cat's health or behaviour, talk to a licensed veterinarian.
No guarantee of accuracy
Mood readings and any other output are generated by an AI model for entertainment purposes and may vary between similar recordings. We make no claim, and give no warranty, that any output reflects your cat's actual mood, intentions or state of health. You use the app's outputs at your own discretion and risk.
Free readings and subscriptions
Your first reading is free, and the app also offers free readings on an ongoing basis. Meow Talk offers an optional auto-renewing subscription for unlimited readings, billed and managed entirely through your Apple ID / App Store account:
- Annual — $39.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial
- Weekly — $3.99 per week, with a 7-day free trial
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the end of the free trial (if any) and again at the start of each renewal period, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your subscription automatically renews for the same length and price unless you cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period, where applicable under Apple's rules.
Prices may vary by territory and are shown in the App Store before purchase. We don't handle payments directly and can't issue refunds ourselves — refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Apple's licence to you
Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict on a matter Apple requires it to control, Apple's EULA governs.
Acceptable use
Don't use Meow Talk to harm an animal, to attempt to bypass or abuse the reading service (for example by scripting requests outside the app), or in any way that violates applicable law. We may suspend or limit access to the reading service for accounts or devices that abuse it.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, Professor Whiskers and its original content are owned by Tal Zvi and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse-engineer the app except as permitted by applicable law.
No warranty; limitation of liability
Meow Talk is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any decision made or action taken based on a mood reading the app provides.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Effective date” above.
